Born on the Niobrara River in 1884, Ivan McKay wrote his memories of life on the prairie and in the pioneer village of Stuart in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Real life experiences and stories of the community and its people are vividly recalled by Mr. McKay, providing the reader with an interesting and educational look at our heritage.

The book, Stuart Centennial, A One Hundred Year History of Stuart, Nebraska (1884-1984), dedicated to hundreds of men and women who made Stuart a living community can be purchased at the White Horse Museum. This book is filled with glimpses into the past of one small town and events which made it a vibrant community.
